Oboi, Che Melancolia by composer Klaas de Vries sits somewhere between an installation and a performance, where the audience can choose to stay seated, lie down, or walk around – and, of course, listen. Surrounded by speakers, the audience hears fragments coming from all directions, all with their own musical story: snippets of Bach or Debussy, bits of dance music that set the body in motion, or slowly shifting chords that dissolve into nothingness.
